Salesforce integration

Let CRM initiate the process. Keep durable process state independent of CRM.

Agentforce, Flow, and MuleSoft can already reach external systems. Orchestrate is complementary when a CRM event should start a long-running process whose durable state, identity chain, approvals, and execution span Salesforce plus ERP, provisioning, billing, ITSM, and custom systems.

Integration posture
Extend

Keep the surrounding platform responsible for what it already does well. Use Orchestrate where durable cross-estate execution and one delegation/audit chain become the requirement.

Division of responsibility

Complement the platform. Do not duplicate it.

Salesforce remains responsible for

CRM experience and integration assets

Accounts, opportunities, cases, and CRM state remain authoritative in Salesforce.
Agentforce remains the Salesforce-native agent experience where that is the chosen front door.
Flow and MuleSoft remain valuable integration and automation assets and do not need to be replaced.
CRM approvals and policies stay in Salesforce when they belong to the CRM process.
Orchestrate adds

Neutral durable execution

Durable cross-estate process state independent of any single application.
Human gates and multi-day waits that survive without holding active execution.
One delegation and audit chain across CRM, ERP, ITSM, provisioning, and billing.
Composed deterministic + agentic work where policy steps and AI judgment share one runtime.
Connection pattern

Three seams. One governed run.

Platform Events / APIs

A record transition, event, API call, or upstream process can create the Orchestrate run.

Scoped OAuth + enterprise identity

Use Salesforce-supported authentication for CRM calls while binding the larger run to its initiating principal and narrow runtime grants.

Salesforce + downstream systems

Update CRM through supported APIs while the same run executes against ERP, provisioning, billing, support, or custom services.

governed side effect

Reference workflow

Closed-won provisioning that does not stop at CRM.

Reference workflow · not a customer claim

A sales event starts a process whose work and approvals continue across systems after the opportunity closes.

This sequence illustrates how the integration pattern maps into a durable run. Production topology, permissions, latency, and exact APIs depend on the customer's environment.

01

Opportunity changes state

A closed-won event creates the durable run with account, product, commercial, and owner context.

02

Create downstream work

Orchestrate invokes ERP customer creation, provisioning, billing, or ITSM tasks as typed tools.

03

Handle exceptions

Credit, contract, or provisioning exceptions can route to specialist agents or deterministic rules.

04

Wait for approval

A credit or legal approval can pause the run and resume later from the same checkpoint.

05

Close the loop

Activation and downstream status are written back to Salesforce with process lineage.

Publication boundary

Be precise about ecosystem claims.

Do not position Salesforce as unable to act outside CRM: MuleSoft for Agentforce explicitly supports third-party systems and cross-enterprise action. Differentiate Orchestrate as a neutral runtime for durable state, identity, and execution across multiple platforms—including Salesforce—rather than as a replacement for MuleSoft, Flow, or Agentforce.

Salesforce working session

Bring the workflow not a generic connector request.

We'll map where Salesforce should remain authoritative and where Orchestrate should carry durable process state across the rest of the estate.
